Nando's (H Street) in Washington has been shortlisted for the Restaurant & Bar Design Awards. The winners will be announced October 5th at London's King's Cross. Stay tuned!
Nando's is an international casual dining restaurant chain widely known for its signature flame-grilled peri-peri chicken dishes. The chicken is flavored with a variety of spices and marinades, ranging from lemon and herb, to mango and lime, tangy tomato, or the restaurant's signature peri-peri marinade.
The restaurant was founded in 1987 in Johannesburg, South Africa, when Fernando Duarte and his entrepreneur friend Robert Brozin tried Portuguese takeaway food from the restaurant Chickenland. The two were so enamored by the restaurant's peri-peri chicken that they decided to purchase the restaurant itself. They renamed it Nando's after Fernando. After expanding with several other outlets, the brands popularity exploded exponentially – Nando's currently operates over 1,000 outlets in nearly 30 countries.
With constant efforts to expand the brand worldwide, it is no surprise that Nando's USA found the need to consolidate its construction program for the future. To ensure that its continued expansion into the United States is as cost and time efficient as possible, Nando's USA has chosen to utilize Projectmates Construction Program Management Software to manage its construction workflow. Projectmates is highly specialized in meeting the needs of retail construction, with over a decade of history in supporting projects such as new construction of freestanding restaurants, tenant build-outs in malls, and much more.
